A: An electrostatic filter is reusable, so you just rinse it out, let it dry, and then put it back in. It saves you money and is more sustainable in the long run instead of throwing away the paper ones!
Q: What is the merv rating for these filters ?
A: Electrostatic Air Filters are not MERV rated. However, Demiwise Air Filters are equivalent to a MERV 8 based on their filtering properties: they capture up to 93% of particles larger than 10 microns.
Q: Is it sturdy enough? Does it warp or become unusable after multiple washings?Electrostatic becomes less effective?
A: Cleaning it in the right way that it will last for at least ten years. Please do not shake it vigorously or clean it violently. After washing, please air dry before use, electrostatic adsorption will not weaken.
Q: How is the airflow? Is it noisy when the furnace is running?
A: The airflow is not obstructed, which reduces the pressure on the furnace. No noise will be produced during operation.
Q: My old washable filter had an air flow direction arrow. I don’t see one on this new one. Does it matter?
A: This filter is multi-directional. However, you can choose one direction and mark it on the filter, so that when it is necessary to backwash the filter, you will know from which side to perform the backwash (on the side opposite to the direction of air flow).
